Delete your account and data
Delete your VaultSafe data
VaultSafe (operated by VaultSafe AI) gives you full control over the data you store with us. You can either:
- Delete specific data without closing your account, or
- Delete your entire account and everything in it.
Both options are free, available to every user, and do not require contacting support — although we’re happy to help if you prefer email.
Delete specific data
Sign in to the VaultSafe mobile app (iOS / Android) or the web app at app.vaultsafe.ai and use any of the following:
Delete individual files
- Open the Files tab.
- Tap the file you want to remove.
- Choose Delete and confirm.
This removes the file, its stored copy, its extracted / OCR text, and any search-index entries built from it. The file is gone from our systems immediately and from encrypted backups within 90 days.
Delete individual chat threads
- Open the Chats tab.
- Tap and hold (or tap the trash icon on) the thread you want to remove.
- Confirm Delete this thread.
This removes that thread’s messages and any agent memory generated from it. Your files and other threads are untouched.
Delete saved memories
Sign in on the web at app.vaultsafe.ai, open Memories, and remove any entry individually.
Request partial deletion by email
If you want us to delete a specific subset of your data (for example, “all files uploaded before a certain date” or “all data from a specific chat”), email support@vaultsafe.ai from the address on your account. We process these requests within 7 business days and email you a confirmation when complete.
Delete your account
You can permanently delete your VaultSafe account and all data associated with it at any time.
Option 1 — Delete from inside the app (fastest, recommended)
- Open the VaultSafe mobile app (iOS or Android) or the web app at app.vaultsafe.ai and sign in.
- Open the Profile tab.
- Scroll to the Delete account section at the bottom.
- Tap Delete account, type
DELETEto confirm, and submit. - You will be signed out of every device and emailed a confirmation.
Option 2 — Request deletion by email
If you no longer have access to the app (for example, you uninstalled it), email us from the address on your account with the subject line “Account deletion request”:
Please include the email address or phone number associated with your account so we can locate it. We will process the request within 7 business days and send a confirmation once deletion is complete.
What gets deleted with your account
When you request account deletion, all of the following is permanently removed:
- Your account record, profile, and authentication credentials
- All uploaded files and their extracted / OCR text
- All chat threads, messages, and agent memories
- Vector embeddings and search indexes built from your files
- Subscription history, usage logs, and billing identifiers
- Parsing-language, region, and other user-specific settings
- Active sign-in sessions on every device
What is retained, and why
We keep a minimal record of the deletion request itself (a timestamp and your user ID) for compliance and audit purposes. We may also retain a limited financial record where required by tax or payment-processor regulations (typically an invoice number and amount, with personally identifying fields removed). Nothing in these records can be used to reconstruct your content.
How long does deletion take
- Live systems: your account is locked and sessions are invalidated immediately. You cannot sign back in after requesting deletion.
- Primary databases and storage: fully purged within 30 days.
- Encrypted backups: purged on the normal 90-day rotation.
Cancelling a deletion request
If you requested deletion by mistake, reply to the confirmation email within 7 days from the same address and we will restore your account. After 7 days the deletion cannot be reversed.
